One of my favourite tasks in my job is to work on commissions and to create a bespoke piece of jewellery. This allows me to be creative, and I have been very honoured to receive commissions to design jewellery for special occasions such as birthdays, engagements and weddings. Throughout my career, I have also been invited to work on commissions for high profile clients, including the Office of the President of Ireland; and the Department of Marine and Communications, who presented pieces to visiting EU and UN delegates.
I am a huge Gaelic Football fan and I was delighted to be asked to design pieces for the Ulster GAA, and other sporting bodies. One of my proudest career moments was being commissioned to design and hand-craft a pair of cufflinks for US President Joe Biden on his visit to County Louth, the home of his ancestors, in June 2016. I have no doubt he wears them to this day!
I really enjoy making quirky designs, and it gives me great satisfaction to create an idea that someone has in their head. I have been requested to make some unusual pieces, including gifts for a surfer, a retired fireman and a pilot. You can see some of these one-off pieces below, these are shots I took from my workbench before they headed off to a new home!
Each commissioned piece is individually sculpted and designed by me, and I really enjoy creating unique one-off pieces for the recipient to wear with pride.
If you wish to commission your own piece of jewellery, please get in touch. I would love to have a chat with you to discuss your vision and guide you through the design process.
