Song of Amergin - Highlanes Art Gallery Drogheda
My work was selected for the Song of Amergin exhibition which ran from August 13th to September 14th 2011. Louth Craftmark Designers Network (LCDN) in conjunction with Highlanes Municipal Art gallery, Drogheda, ran County Louth’s major craft event for the year of craft 2011.The theme of the exhibition was the Song of Amergin. The Book of Invasions which contains The Song of Amergin, has long inspired writers, artists and musicians from Louis Le Brocquy to Horseslips and my take on the warriors poem was somewhat quirky as I made some bling for the warrior poet in the form of a medallion and ring.
 Showcase 2011
In January I exhibited in the Creative Island at Showcase, Ireland’s leading trade show for craft and design. Creative Island featured some of the … "very best Irish Craft makers and designers specially selected for their creativity, innovation and craftsmanship". A new twist on the Luck Child collection using 9ct gold plated flowers secured a place for the pendant in the TOP 50 NEW PRODUCTS at the show.
When at Showcase a group of selected makers visited President Mary McAleese in Áras an Uachtaráin to celebrate the Year of Craft. You can see me with some of my fellow makers from Louth and Monaghan with the President.
Current Work
I am currently working on private commissions including engagement rings and preparing for Christmas Fairs.
